When a lion cub is mysteriously stolen from the Houston Zoo, the police are too busy to help. Fifteen-year-old Alexandria Christina Maxwell, who everyone calls AC, is determined to solve the mystery. After all, her father is the renowned private investigator Alex Maxwell, and her mother is the famed investigative reporter Christy Madaris Maxwell. That means solving mysteries is in her blood.

With the help of her best friend, Wolf Sinclair, who has inherited mystical powers; a “play cousin” who is a techy genius, Glenn Chenault; and Wolf’s trusted companion and protector – a wolf named Cherokee – they identify suspects and are determined to shut down the criminal operations and return the cub to the zoo.

Their investigation leads them to a shocking plot involving DNA experiments.  As AC, Wolf, Glenn, and Cherokee race against time to save the cub, they uncover more than they ever expected.
